The hotel was cozy with a comfortable king-size bed and a large TV, but the lack of a full-length mirror and small wardrobe were disappointing. The room got smoky due to the fireplace chimney near the window.

Rooms
7.0
The room was cozy, but the absence of a full-length mirror and small wardrobe along with tatty bathrobes was a letdown. The comfortable king-size bed and large TV were highlights despite the smokiness from the fireplace chimney.
Service
9.0
The service was exceptionally welcoming, with brilliant staff like Philip & Janet who made the stay special. They were attentive without being overbearing, friendly, kind, helpful, well-presented, efficient, and approachable.
Location
9.0
The location was fantastic, especially for countryside lovers and walkers. The staff were amazing, and the food was lovely, with numerous privately owned shops nearby.
Dining
6.0
The dining experience was fairly basic, limited to 'full English' components with a lack of fish and other alternatives. The homemade pastry was a highlight despite the limited options.
Facilities
The facilities were standard, catering to basic needs without standing out. However, the value for money could be improved.

The hotel was disappointing in terms of room amenities with no full-length mirror, a very small wardrobe, and tatty bathrobes. The room was uncomfortably hot even with the windows open, making it challenging to sleep. On the positive side, the room being on the ground floor was convenient for my disabled husband, though it looked nothing like the pictures.

Rooms
5.0
The room amenities were lacking and the temperature was uncomfortable, but the ground floor location was convenient for my husband.
Service
9.0
The staff were beautiful, very pleasant, friendly, and attentive. They made our stay pleasant, and the food was great.
Location
8.0
The hotel's countryside location was enjoyable for walking and had excellent staff, lovely food, and spotlessly clean rooms with a fantastic view. The lounge area with an open fire was charming.
Dining
7.0
The dining experience was excellent with attentive service and food replenished when needed, cooked by the owner. However, the variety of food for a 4-star establishment was poor, especially for vegetarians.
Facilities
8.0
The property was well looked after, with spectacular gardens, a water feature, and a chill-out lounge area with an open fire.

I had a mixed experience at the hotel. The rooms were beautiful and spacious, but a bit hot. It was nice to be able to open a window instead of relying on air conditioning. However, it was awkward that the TV was downstairs and not visible from the bed. The service was mostly attentive and helpful, although communication with the barman and reception was a bit challenging. The location was fabulous, with great countryside views and a lovely lounge area. The dining was good overall, but the early closing time was not suitable for everyone. The facilities were well looked after and offered a cozy atmosphere.

I loved the beautiful and spacious rooms though a bit hot; opening windows was a nice option. The TV location was awkward being downstairs.
